Mid-Century Modern Tennis Club @ Sesh Tennis
This project is conceived as a Mid-Century Modern Tennis Club, blending the timeless aesthetics of mid-century modernism with the relaxed discipline of classic tennis culture. Designed as an indoor automated tennis facility, the space balances performance, comfort, and emotional ease.
A palette of deep green, warm terracotta, and natural wood tones references traditional tennis environments, reinterpreted through clean geometry and contemporary detailing. Checkerboard compositions and circular elements echo mid-century modern principles, establishing rhythm and visual clarity throughout the space.
Tensioned rope screens, inspired by the structure and rhythm of tennis strings, are used as spatial dividers. Rather than forming solid barriers, these string-based elements introduce transparency and softness, allowing light, airflow, and visual connection to move freely across the space. The repetition and tension of the ropes subtly express the balance between control and release inherent in the sport.
Functional areas—including lockers, showers, and lounge spaces—are seamlessly integrated to support the full cycle of training, recovery, and social interaction.
The overall design emphasizes calm, focus, and flow, removing unnecessary pressure from the training experience.
By translating the essence of tennis—rhythm, tension, and release—into spatial language, the facility becomes more than a place to train. It is a space where movement feels natural, practice feels enjoyable, and joy moves. 🎾
