Located in Renna Residence at The NorthBank, Kuching, this project explores a restrained approach to contemporary living—where space is not defined by objects, but by light, proportion, and quiet continuity.
Guided by the idea of “Lines Concealed, Light Defines the Space,” the design minimizes visual expression, allowing architectural lines to recede into the background while light becomes the primary medium shaping spatial experience.
The absence of a central ceiling light establishes a calm and immersive atmosphere. Concealed linear lighting is carefully integrated along edges and junctions, softly revealing surfaces and creating a layered depth. Light is no longer a direct source, but a subtle presence that defines boundaries without enclosing them.
A muted palette of warm neutrals, soft whites, and natural wood tones reinforces the sense of stillness. Seamless paneling, concealed storage, and continuous surfaces eliminate visual interruption, allowing the space to feel expansive despite its compact scale.
The layout is composed as a continuous flow between kitchen, dining, and living areas. Rather than relying on partitions, transitions are defined through shifts in light intensity, material texture, and spatial rhythm—creating a fluid yet structured living environment.
Every detail is deliberately restrained. Shadow gaps, clean junctions, and integrated elements reflect a disciplined design language where precision replaces excess, and clarity becomes the core expression.
This project is not about adding more, but about removing the unnecessary.

本项目位于砂拉越古晋 The NorthBank 的 Renna Residence，是一处典型的城市型住宅。设计以“线隐其形，光定其境”为核心理念，探索在有限空间中，通过克制的设计手法，构建出安静而有层次的生活体验。
空间刻意弱化装饰语言，将视觉重心转向光与比例的关系。设计中取消传统主灯，以隐藏式线性灯光作为主要照明方式，将光嵌入结构边界之中，使光线顺着墙面与顶面缓缓展开。光不再只是照明工具，而成为塑造空间情绪与深度的媒介，在明暗之间形成柔和过渡，增强整体空间的包裹感与延展性。
材质运用延续克制原则，以暖灰、柔白及木质元素为主，营造出温润而平衡的基调。墙面、收纳与结构通过一体化处理，使空间在视觉上保持连续与纯净，减少不必要的分割与干扰，从而放大整体空间感。
在布局上，客厅、餐厅与厨房采用开放式组织方式，通过光影层次、材质变化与尺度控制来界定不同功能区域，而非依赖实体隔断。这种模糊边界的处理，使空间在使用上更加灵活，同时维持整体的统一与秩序。
细节处理强调精准与克制。无把手设计、暗缝收口与干净的转角关系，体现出对施工与工艺的严格控制，使设计语言得以完整呈现。
本项目并非追求形式上的表达，而是通过减少多余元素，让空间回归本质。在安静的线条与柔和的光影之中，呈现一种内敛而持久的居住体验。
